With this army I wanted to do either custom or special bases for it and came across 'Corpse Fields' put out by www.secretweaponminiatures.com/.

After a couple tryouts for coloring I started getting close to what I wanted:



Here was the final steps to getthe result I wanted (pictured below):
~Please note all paints are Citadel~

- Base paint with Skull White
- Paint bodies and strips of flesh with Elf Flesh (now called Kislev Flesh)
- Wash bodies and strips of flesh and pockmarks with Reikland Flesh
- Wash ground areas and pockmarks with Athonian Camoshade
- Wash pockmarks and strips of flesh with Carroburg Crimson along with small patches where you want places on the bodies to be "bloodier"
- Use Bloodletter Glaze over guts, stumps, etc. for bright blood effect
- Wash entire base with Agrax Earthshade which I think blends everything together and cuts down on some of the brights IMO.

Nice...what type of nids are you going to place on them. If I had the talent to do that type of basing I would, and probably add some bits like helmets or lasguns.

The smaller bases in the fist pic are 25mm bases so able for termagaunts, gargoyles, etc.

The large base in the bottom pic is a 60mm and will be used for the Swarmlord or a Hive Tyrant.

Starts with a basic white prime folowed by a coat of Drakenhof Nightshade on the carapace and Mephiston Red over the exposed flesh areas.



Second coat on the carapace, clean up the body with Skull White and then do a heavy wash with Seraphim Sepia over the body. Wallah. 3 color minium, but does need more detail of course and basing.



I like how this model is coming out for my color scheme for my Tyranids. Still have some detail work to do, but overall, fairly quick and easy.
